Patti Smith is the owner of CSP Dance Studios that was established in 2009. She has been a professional certified dance teacher since 2001. She holds certifications in the Fred Astaire and the DVIDA syllabi. Patti has had the pleasure of working in all aspects of her industry from teaching the beginning student to training teachers, to choreographing and training actors for television and film.

She enjoys teaching beginners as well as advanced students and thoroughly enjoys competing with her students at various NDCA and UCWDC competitions. “My philosophy is that fun should always be the number one priority and everything else comes with time.” Patti also believes that everyone is dancing for a different reason, and it is her job to help them meet THEIR goals.

Kiersten has been dancing since she was four years old. She has a ballet and jazz background but transitioned into ballroom in 2000. She has been a professional Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Country instructor since 2001. She has also competed professionally as well as with her students in various NDCA (ballroom) and UCWDC (country), and ACDA (country) competitions. Kiersten enjoys bringing her love of dance to all her students.

JW has been teaching ballroom dance since 2003, bringing more than two decades of experience to students of all levels. Throughout his career, he has competed alongside students, coached collegiate competitors, and continually expanded his expertise by working directly with the top coaches in the dance industry.

Whether you’re taking your very first dance steps, refining advanced techniques, or preparing choreography for performances or competitions, JW is dedicated to helping you build confidence, achieve your goals, and enjoy every step of the journey. His patient, encouraging teaching style creates a fun and supportive environment where dancers can develop both their skills and their love of dance.

Alyx “Allie” Sanchez earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from New Mexico State University and is an experienced dance educator with over 16 years of teaching artistry at NDI New Mexico. Throughout her work in public schools, she has cultivated a warm, inclusive approach to movement, specializing in creative dance and early childhood education and helping young learners build confidence, connection, and joy through movement.

Alyx brings this same sense of connection into her partner dance instruction, where communication, trust, and musicality are at the heart of her teaching. As a performer, she has danced with aerial arts and salsa companies and draws from a rich background in modern dance, flamenco, ballroom, and Latin styles. Her teaching approach emphasizes not only technique, but also the shared experience of dancing with others—creating a welcoming space where students of all ages can feel supported, expressive, and inspired.

Sage is experienced in many forms of dance as well as a theatrical lighting designer. Dance has been part of Sage’s life since she was a child and has always played an important role in her creative expression.

Sage studied Contemporary Dance at the University of New Mexico where she was also exposed to many different styles of dance. Since graduating UNM, she also has been a performer in a variety of dance projects and has hosted a movement workshop with an international radio show called Limits.fm. She has also choreographed for feature films and music videos. Sage is excited to bring her talents to CSP Dance Studios.

Kathryn has been dancing since high school. She started with team dancing and then learned salsa in college. She competed in the “fun” dances like Salsa and West Coast Swing but also in International Standard. She really enjoys providing information and encouraging dancers on their own dance journey especially in the ten years she’s been with CSP. Call CSP and she will help you with your dance goals!

Cindy is not only a CSP employee, but also a CSP student. She thoroughly enjoys and values both roles and says that dancing is the “fun” in her life!
