Did you know that the waltz was once considered risqué? Referred to as a “closed dance,” the waltz was first introduced to royal courts in Europe but was disliked by those who thought the closeness of the dancers was sinful. Imagine what they’d think of today’s nightclubs!
Nowadays, waltz lessons are perhaps the most requested dance style we teach at CSP Dance Studios. The dance is best known for using three beats per measure and is especially popular for weddings and couples dances. Waltz instruction is also available for the Viennese Waltz, the original form of the Waltz.

The Wedding Waltz
If you want to spruce up your Waltz for your first wedding dance, we can help with wedding dance classes that can be taken either as a group or as a couple. Don’t worry if your skills aren’t at the level of a Broadway star—that’s what we’re here for! Our certified waltz instructors will bring the best out of your dancing in a comfortable, welcoming environment.
